Why I might seem a little MIA

Regular readers of this blog know that normally I write anywhere from 3 to 5 times a week at the minimum. Perhaps you thought I went on a fun vacation traveling to exotic places. But, No, I have been here all along.

So why am I MIA? I’ve only popped in and out of Twitter and Facebook at odd moments and I miss my connections. I have only written 12 posts this month (plus this one). I haven’t been commenting on other people’s blogs either. Did I fall out of love with social media? Don’t I care about my community?

No, I care more than ever because you all are part of how I got to my current busy status. The growth of my social media presence, coupled with the article in the local paper, Wausau Daily Herald (WDH), has created an influx of business I have never seen in the 20 plus years I have been in business. Then WDH ran this story, “Interview skills can tip the scales in a job search” on Sunday coupled with a rerun of the first article,

in a special Employment Super Sunday section. More local people have found me through the articles than ever did in the advertising I ran throughout the history of my business.

The month of March has been incredible and I have been blessed with more new clients than ever before. Since I deliver most of my career marketing services live — meaning that either the client is here in my office or with me via Skype, this means that I have been one-on-one with people most of the month.

Great clients all month in multiple fields and some of those are already reporting success stories of either getting interviews or being offered new positions because they now have accomplishment-filled resumes. In today’s economy, to take a job search from resume to offer in one month is much harder than ever before. But my clients are finding it possible.

I just wanted to let you know why it has been a little quiet here on the blog. As I discover ways to balance, you will hear more from me again. For now, at least you know why.

It’s been a long haul to get to this point but it has been a fun month.
