Top 5 reasons to become an entrepreneur
I mentioned the other day that my clients include not only job seekers and career changers but also those people who are contemplating becoming entrepreneurs or launching their own business and are in need of tools and coaching to reach their goals. Let’s discuss the top 5 reasons to become an entrepreneur and in posts, talk about reasons entrepreneurship may not be for you and what tools you need to launch your endeavor.
Top 5 reasons to look at entrepreneurship
- You have a burning desire to provide a service, sell a product, or help others reach their goals.
- You have a skill set that you know you could use in your own business and want that autonomy.
- You want to build your career around your family.
- You want to make an impact directly on the world around you.
- You believe you have a way of doing it better.
Burning Desire
When you have something you love that you know can change lives and earn you an income at the same time, it is hard to not want to move forward. When you are an employee, you have much less control over what you do. As an entrepreneur, you can take those things you love the most and use them daily, whereas your job may only allow you to do your favorite thing periodically and in between you are stuck doing other things that you hate.
Using your skills with Autonomy
Much like your passion or burning desire, sometimes you really want autonomy. Freedom to do things how and when you want.
Being available for your family
Increasingly, people are able to build businesses and lives around their family and lifestyle. If you have children and want to be a part of their lives, a home-based business or entrepreneur effort may give you more time to spend with them, attend their events, and share experiences. If you have elderly family members, you can be more available by working as an entrepreneur.
Impact the world
There are entrepreneurial endeavors that will make a difference. You may develop a product or solution that helps people and the best way for you to make that impact is to sell or deliver that product yourself.
Better way of doing things
If you know you have a better way of doing something and there is no way you can make that change in your corporate or company role, you may want to strike out as an entrepreneur.
