About Julie

I’m Julie Walraven and as a Certified Professional Resume Writer (CPRW), I am one of the career industry’s leading experts in the development of strategic resumes.

I write your resume using my unique, interactive live-writing process to quiz you on your accomplishments and teach you the latest job search strategies so you can get back to work quicker, change to a new position, or grab that promotion you want.

Job search is more challenging than ever before in history. In fact, many call this the worst economic climate in 80 years.Yet throughout this recession, my clients from throughout the United State and around the globe have been getting interviews and  are offered new positions in companies and jobs they love.

Success stories! That’s what you really what to know, isn’t it?

Will working with me make a difference?

Resume Clients e-mails:

My job search lasted about 2 months, and I was called in for interviews with four companies during that time.  I was called by a fifth company after I had accepted the position.  Thank you for your help with my resume and cover letter…..SUCCESS!

and another client finds a new role:

I am an “Electrical Technician” and have been offered further advancement with the company.  Been very busy with work and doing some field service for them on upgrading a hydro plant in Cornell.  Seems like everyday they find out about more of my abilities and want to keep me around!!  Everyone is very nice to work with and they really appreciate me.  WOW… what a change from my old company!

Beyond the resume

I take you beyond the resume and teach you the most current ways to search for job, explain networking in a way to help you build the connections to lead to your next position. In 2012, I added the DISC assessment to all of my packages because with the assessment and the accompanying consultation, I can get to know you better and understand what specific personality traits you bring to the next employer. I also help you analyze what positions best fit your communication style and strengths. My goal is to help you find out what works best for you.

My personal history

My passion for writing began early in life and I would not have predicted the direction it took me. I have a solid background in English as well as a strong background in psychology and sociology built when my original plan was to become a criminal attorney. Life happened and I channeled the desire I have to help people into multiple areas.

For almost 20 years, I partnered Design Resumes with the management of non-profit organizations, such as the Kiwanis Club of Wausau and Wausau Whitewater. This gave me an opportunity to network with individuals from many career paths.

In December 2009, I decided to focus solely on my own business endeavors. As an active social media and social networking user, I have built some great connections that stretch around the globe with other business entrepreneurs, career industry colleagues, and individuals looking to change careers.

Things that make me “me”

In addition to my professional life, I am a wife, mom of two adult sons, and Buddy’s mom (Buddy is our 8 month old German Shepherd.) I love to walk and can’t wait for warm weather to take Buddy on my favorite walk to the river. My passions include gardening. I love seeing things grow. I love trying new things in the garden, in the kitchen and in my life.
