How to stay focused on your job search
Stay focused on anything with so many distractions today? Almost an impossible task, right?
When told to stay focused on your job search, you wonder how that can be done.
When do you struggle to stay focused?
For me, it is many times a day. Not only do I have client meetings but in between I need to keep going in order to deliver the projects I promised to other clients and myself. If I let myself get lost in cyberspace, I lose more minutes.
Staying focused and positive despite those things around me is critical for me. I will admit that when I experience a business slowdown, it gets hard to stay focused and positive.
Reasons job seekers struggle with focus
Pressure is on when you know your income dried up and your savings are being depleted. Many people react in reverse. Instead of revving up their job search, they cocoon internally or get distracted by many things outside of their job search goals.
The emotions come on strong and it is easy to give in to sorrow or even depression. This will never end. I will never find a job. This is when you need to dig deep and keep pressing on.
