Why job search strategy is key to job search success
The buzz words in the career industry have changed. No longer is our total focus on the resume. I do say that the resume is the foundation of the job search and it is. But every part of your job search has to have a strategy, including the resume.
Find new jobs and succeed in new careers they love
In the worst economic conditions in 80 years, I have seen clients find new jobs and succeed in new careers they love. But they understand that strategy is key. We talk about job search strategy and career marketing. Success isn’t tied to just finding a new job, it is connected to understanding what is your ideal environment, what your value is to the organization, the keys to motivating you, and best ways to communicate with you.
When you plug into the wrong place, company, or position
When you plug into the wrong place, perhaps out of desperation, you find yourself back on the job market far too quickly.
Understanding and using the new career marketing tools
Other clients who have invested in making LinkedIn work for them have found new connections that lead to jobs they would never have found or new connections that understand the value they could bring to the company.
Some people remain unemployed longer than others for many reasons but most often the reason is tied to both the loss of self worth they feel from losing the position they had and from not understanding strategic job search. When you insist on using a point and click job search strategy you are diminishing the likelihood that you will hired by massive percentages.
Examine your job search strategy and if you find you don’t have one, rethink. Approach a job search as if it is a complex problem at work, one that you need to research the latest solutions and implement the best one to fit your needs.
When you work with your own personalized career marketing plan, implementing the right strategies for your job search, you differentiate yourself from the masses and you connect with the network that will help you advance. If you simply point and click, you end up looking like everyone else and get lost in the crowd.

Strategy is very important when you have a job and have certain goals to achieve. People sometimes forget that looking for a job is very much like having a job itself, and that strategy is very important at it as well.
